Two-day training for Fertilizer Inspectors, QC officers concludes

JAMMU: A two days training programme for Fertilizer Inspectors, Quality Control Research Officers and Agriculture Extension Officers of Agriculture department at Krishi Bhawan concluded here on Saturday. The training programme has been sponsored by Central Fertilizer Quality Control Lab and Training Institute (CFQCL & TI), Faridabad (GOI).
Sudesh Koul, Director Agriculture Jammu said that the purpose of such trainings was to train the officers to implement the Fertilizer Control Order (FCO) in its true letter and spirit so that the fertilizer which reaches to the farmers meets all its quality standards.
Director Law Enforcement, J&K, Susheel Sahni said that fertilizer random sampling is being done from rake points to the retailers, and is further sent to the quality control labs to check the quality parameters.
Joint Director of Agriculture (Extension), Jammu, Ashok Malhotra said that Enforcement Inspectors and Analyst Officers have great responsibility to check and contain the sale of spurious and sub-standard fertilizers.
Dhananjay Singh, Assistant Director Law Enforcement, Central Fertilizer Quality Control Laboratory (CFQCL), Faridabad deliberated in detail on aims and scope of Essential Commodity Act and Fertilizer Control Order (FCO), 1985 and various procedures of drawing samples of Chemical Fertilisers and Bio-fertilisers.
