Srinagar: Two policemen were booked on charges of extortion here in Srinagar on Monday.
Sources said that a man from South Kashmir’s Pulwama has accused two cops of extortion and lodged a complaint with police stating that two cops are demanding money from him on the one or other pretext.
The cops have been identified as Head Constable Ajaz Ahmed and Selection Grade Constable Bashir Ahmed. Taking cognizance of the complaint both these cops were booked for extortion and a formal FIR vide number 97/2020 under section 34, 380, 384, 420, 506 IPC registered against them at police station Kothi Bagh. One of cops is posted in Srinagar while another in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
