Two arrested, six bikes recovered

RAJOURI: Police on Thursday achieved a major success by recovering six motorcycles and arresting two motorcycle lifters .
According to a report, one Tanveer Ahmed son of Mohd Hussain resident of Behroth Tehsil Budhal lodged a written complaint at Police Station Budhal, that his motorcycle Bajaj Pulsar without number has been stolen during the intervening night of July 26/27, 2017 from village Behroth. On this a case vide FIR no. 46/2017 under section 379 RPC was registered and during investigation, four to five suspects were taken into custody. During their interrogation, one of the suspects namely Ashiq Ali son of Azam Din resident of Tuli Tehsil Chassana Distt. Reasi confessed that he steals motorcycles and sells them. He also disclosed that he has liason with other noted thieves of Rajouri and they work together to lift the bikes.
As per investigation, all of them used to break open the locks of the parked motorcycles and ride away to sell these from Rajouri to Shopian and vice versa. On identification of the accused Ashiq Ali, six bikes were recovered during investigation. Another accused namely Sunil Kumar of Draj Budhal was also arrested in the case.
Investigation into the matter is in progress and more recoveries of motorcycles cannot be ruled out. The case was worked out by SHO Police Station Budhal Jahangir Ahmad under the supervision of Sukhdev Singh DSP Ops Rajouri and Yougal Manhas SSP Rajouri.
