KISHTWAR: Police on Monday arrested two bootleggers and recovered 38 pouches of liquor from their possession.
As per the details, police developed a specific information that some persons are involved in getting liquor in illegal manner from liquor Shops in Kishtwar town and sell it at higher rates to youth in outskirts of the town. Over it a party led by In-charge Police Post Kuleed Kishori Lal during routine Naka checking at Kuleed Chowk detained an auto rickshaw for checking. During the checking, police found 38 pouches of liquor inside the auto rickshaw in the custody of two persons namely Tariq Hussain son of Mohd Abass and Mohd Irfan son of Mohd Ayoub both residents of Gurrien Kishtwar. Both were arrested and case vide FIR No. 290/2017 under section 48 (A) Excise Act was registered against them at Police Station Kishtwar. The arrests and recovery were made under the supervision of In-Charge SHO Police Station Kishtwar SI Deepak Thakur and In-Charge Dy SP Headquarters Kishtwar Nissar Ahmed Khoja.
