Two arrested, cop suspended for beating boy

REASI: Police on Friday arrested two persons and suspended a constable for beating and allegedly implicating false allegations on a boy.
As per the details, an incident took place at Pouni under the jurisdiction of Police Station Pouni in which counter FIRs have been registered. On 5th May 2016, one Bashir Ahmed son of Abdul Gaffar Bhat resident of Talwara lodged a written complaint at Police Station Pouni that his daughter had gone to their maternal uncle’s house at Pouni and there one Rahul Kumar son of Ram Chand resident of Talwara trespassed and entered into the house and attempted to outrange the modesty of her daughter.
On seeing this, my daughter raised an alarm and on hearing other family members came and caught hold of Rahul Kumar, he said. On this complaint, a case vide FIR No. 22/2016 under section 451/376/211/354 RPC was registered.
After half an hour one Gian Chand son of Anant Ram resident of Talwara lodged a written complaint at Police Station Pouni that his nephew namely Rahul Kumar son of Ram Chand resident of Talwara had gone to Pouni on 4th May 2016 in his vehicle. The persons namely Bashir Ahmed, Shokat, Gaffur, Const. Mohd Sultan and some other unknown persons caught hold of him and took him to in-laws house of Bashir Ahmed son of Abdul Gaffar Bhat reszident of Talwara where they kept him in illegal confinement and beaten him mercilessly due to which Rahul Kumar received grievous injuries. On this compliant, a case vide FIR No. 23/2016 U/S 342/323/34 RPC was also registered against the accused persons.
Police took prompt action in both the cases and took Rahul Kumar to PHC Pouni and from there he was further referred to GMC Jammu for medical treatment. In counter case two culprits namely Bashir Ahmed father of the girl and Ghulam Nabi son of Raj Mohd resident Pouni have been arrested. Further, after confirmation of involvement of Police Constable Mohd Sultan No.949/RSI in the later case he has been suspended by SSP Reasi. The said constable has also been taken into custody for his alleged involvement. Efforts are on to nab the other accused persons. The SSP Reasi has directed Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi to look into the case personally due to its sensitivity and social implications.
