Truck with fake number plate seized at Jhajjar Kotli; two arrested

JAMMU: Jhajjar Kotli police team has seized a Jammu bound truck with fake number plate. The truck was returning from Srinagar after unloading beverages to Babar Enterprises Srinagar (Kashmir) which was loaded from Jai Beverages Pvt Ltd,  Bari Brahamana on a Challan on forged registration number (JK02CC/7322).

The cops stopped one truck (JK02CC-7322) which was on its way from Srinagar to Jammu for frisking.

The alert police team found another number plate alongwith registration certificate concealed inside the tool box.

On being doubtful, SHO Jhajjar Kotli Vikram Sharma interrogated the truck driver and cleaner who disclosed that  original number of the truck is HP97A/8757. The duo was using this registration number for gaining wrongful profit by ferrying goods from Jammu and Srinagar.

Further during questioning, it was ascertained that the truck coming from Srinagar after unloading beverages to Babar Enterprises Srinagar (Kashmir) which was loaded from Jai Beverages Pvt Ltd, SIDCO Complex Bari Brahamana by making a Challan on the forged registration number (JK02CC/7322).

FIR 137/2022 under section 420/468/471/120-B IPC has been registered against Shahzad Ahmed, son of  Mohd Iqbal, resident of Chattara District Doda and Shafqat Hussain, son of Mohd Iqbal, resident of  Bonjawa District Kishtwar. Both the acused have been arrested.
