Tributes paid to Yash Paul Khajuria;BJP utterly failed to ensure equal share to Jammu region: Sham

UDHAMPUR: Former Minister and Senior Vice President, JKPCC Sham Lal Sharma lambasted BJP for its utter failure to ensure equitable share to Jammu region in every sphere and its surrender on every vital issue and compromise on its agenda for the sake of power.
Paying rich tributes to veteran Congress leader and former Minister, Yash Pal Khajuria on his Fifth Death Anniversary here on Monday, Sharma lashed out at the BJP for exploiting the sentiments of people of Jammu region on emotional issues like removal of Article 370, removing ‘Do-Vidhan, Do-Nishan’, citizenship and voting rights to West Pakistan Refugees, removing discrimination and ensuring equitable share to Jammu region in every sphere and regretted that it surrendered on all vital issues and aspirations of the region for the sake of chair.
“This has exposed the politics of duplicity and opportunism of BJP and now people have started questioning their role publically. BJP leaders are facing the wrath of public anger and would face worst ever defeat in future,” she added.
Sharma said that the PDP-BJP Coalition Government has failed on all fronts, as a result different section of the society are suffering.
Sham also described Khajuria a grass root leader of the party who always remained attached to party workers and common people of the State.
Vice President JKPCC Kanta Bhan also spoke on the occasion.
Former Minister and General Secretary PCC, Yogesh Sawhney recalled his long association with Khajuria and remembered his qualities of leadership and commitment to grass root workers.
Chief Spokesperson JKPCC, Ravinder Sharma criticised the politics of vendetta by the BJP Government at the Centre and said that Congress would emerge stronger because of the attempts by the government to distort the history and role of Congress leadership from time to time. He termed the BJP-PDP Coalition as sheer opportunism and betrayal by the two parties with their respective electorates. He said Khajuria was known in the party rank and file for his simplicity, honesty, commitment and dedication towards the service of people. President DCC Udhampur, Ashok Gupta chaired the function.
Ex-MLAs Faqir Nath, Krishan Chander Bhagat and Ashok Dogra, Secretary PCC Vijay Manhas, Sourav Khajuria, Surinder Khajuria, Vinod Khajuria, Ashok Bakshi, Manav Upadheya, Om Prakash Sharma, Rassal Singh, Jaswant Singh, Des Raj Prasher, Sumeet Magotra, Om Prakash Magotra, Ravi Shastri, Vijay Laxmi, Jasbir Kour and Dwarka Nath paid rich tributes to Khajuria and recalled his commitment to the service of people throughout his life.
Sourav Khajuria, son of Yash Pal Khajuria expressed gratitude to the party workers for remembering Khajuria and his good works.
