Trekking group returns from Manali

JAMMU: First batch of Manali-Macleodganj Himalayan Trekking Programme comprising 37 students and four teachers of Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar, Jammu returned here after a memorable venture in the Himalaya.
During the six days adventure programme the budding trekkers enjoyed trekking in the sylvan surroundings of enchanting Jogini Falls, a visit to the Sulphur springs at Vashisht and the sacred Hadimba Temple.
However, the most exciting part of the venture was the thrilling experience of rafting in the Beas river. Besides, the participants visited Macleodganj, the seat of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, Bhagshunag and Waterfall.
On their return, the group was received by Ram Khajuria and Shawetica Khajuria, senior vice president and general secretary respectively of Tawi Trekkers J and K, who also presented surprise gifts to two lucky draw winners in the presence of staff of the school.
The next group comprising 45 students of Oriental Academy Higher Secondary School, Afghan Mohalla, Jammu shall leave for the trekking on 5th June.
