JAMMU: The team comprising of 21 young officers, one Junior Commissioned Officer and eight other ranks was flagged off by Brigadier Rajiv Ghai, Commander Tripeak Bridge from Pooh on Saturday.
The journey of these selected young officers commenced with Basic Skiing Course, Rock Climbing Course and endurance. Further maintaining the tempo, Tripeak Brigade has now planned a high altitude trek from Sangla to Harsil via Lamkhaga Pass which is located at an attitude of 17,152 ft.
“The team will cover a distance of 151 km crossing rugged mountains, the famous snow clad Lamkhaga Pass and a number of fast following rivers enroute,” Defence Spokesperson, Lt Col Manish Mehta, said.
