According to a universal truth, “No axe, howsoever sharp, can render harm to any tree in the forest without the wooden handle made from the branches of the fellow trees”. Country in general and Jammu and Kashmir UT in particular has been bearing the brunt of internal and the sponsored terrorism for the last 40 years resulting into the cases of mass scale migration from the valley, genocide chaos and arson, stone pelting , selective killings of minorities and the nonresident laborers and killing of the armed forces in Kupwara, Uri, Poonch, Rajouri and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir. There has been total silence prevailing in the Kashmir valley ever since the UT government tightened the noose around the separatists, isolating them and plugging their sources of funding from the hostile countries. The period after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35 A, was marked with an era of peace, unprecedented development, an era which brought the economy, trade and the tourism on rails again. But in order to register the presence in the UT the terrorist outfits have started spreading their tentacles in the peaceful Jammu region with an increase in the terrorist incidents of killing the security forces by the ambushments. It is worthwhile to mention here about the recent cases of terrorist attacks on the passenger bus where dozens of devotees were killed by the terrorists. The abrupt spurt in the incidents of terrorist activities in Doda, Bhaderwah, Kathua, Samba, Hiranagar, Bani, Macchedi, Barmota and other parts of the Kathua district have ascertained the role of the local Over Ground Workers (OWGs) who played major role in assisting and sheltering the terrorists helping them in carrying out their nefarious acts, killing the army jawans who were ambushed and caught unaware as result of the nexus between the OWGs and terrorists in their areas. The recent terrorist attacks on the devotees and the army vehicles have confirmed the reality of involvement of some locals but for whose assistance such grievous attacks have been impossible. It is a matter of great surprise as how a person enjoying all the facilities and amenities of life in a democratic and secular state can ever desert and rebel against the nation and become a tool in the hands of the terrorist outfits in lieu of fistful of money for helping them in carrying out their plans of bleeding the nation. Every nationalist is compelled to pray to the Home and Defence ministers to treat and punish these OWGs like the terrorists. The homes providing the shelter to these terrorists be demolished with Mortar shells. All the facilities of Adhaar, Pan, ID , ration cards, PRCs, Domicile certificates be confiscated and convicted under the same laws meant for the terrorists.
The time has come to identify the venomous snakes camouflaged under the grass crush their hood so that they never dare going against the interests and security of the country they live-in.
