SAMBA: A training programme was organised in on farm school at village Jerda, Block Ramgarh, District Samba, under National Mission of Agricultural and Technology (ATMA) on Wednesday. Project Director ATMA V. K. Bhushan in his lecture regarding farm machinery and made the farmers aware to adopt scientific based techniques in their farm by using latest farms machinery.
Dy. Project Director ATMA Ashok Gupta delivered the Technical message regarding safe handling and use of systemic insecticides and fungicides and made the farmers aware about the spray techniques by using mask and gloves. Agricultural Technical Manager Romesh Razdan educated the farmers regarding termite control in standing wheat crop and suggest the remedial measures to participants of the on farm school.
Scientist from SKUAST (Jammu) Dr. Vikas Gupta in his technical message imparted knowledge to the farmers regarding weed control by applying selective weedicides in 35 to 38 days of wheat crop. He also suggest some remedial measures to control both dicot and monocot weeds.
Rajesh Kumar (R-E-Z) from Agriculture Department in his lecture delivered practical demonstration regarding how to use weedicide in farmers field. Twenty eight number of farmers participated in the training programme. Farmers of the on farm school gave feedback regarding impact of previous training programme with the experts. Relevant literature was also provided to the participants of the on farm school during the training programme.
Mohan Singh Bhatti, Sarpanch Village Jerda at the end of the training programme thanked the experts from ATMA, Scientist from SKUAST (J) and departmental officers for their positive attitude towards the participants by delivering important and relevant technical message in phased manner on farm school. Achiever farmer Mehar Singh remained present in the training programme.
Agricultural Technical Manager Parshotam Sharma, Neelu Slathia, and Jr. Agriculture Extension Officer, Yash Pal also participated in training programme.
