Training on organic farming, sustainable agriculture concludes

KISHTWAR: Two days training programme on organic farming and sustainable agriculture during Rabi season under ATMA programme organised by Agriculture Department in collaboration with Morarka Foundation NGO at New DC Office complex Kishtwar concluded on Tuesday.
The training programme was jointly inaugurated by R.K Hitiashi, Chief Agriculture Officer Kishtwar, H. K Razdan, Chief Agriculture Officer Doda and A.K Makhnotra, Programme Officer JDA(E) Directorate of Agriculture Jammu. Under the guidance of Director Agriculture Jammu the whole programme was supervised by A. K Malhotra Joint Director Agriculture (Extension) Jammu. A total number of 47 farmers and 16 officers of different cadre of Agriculture Department besides the representatives of Morarka Foundation which is the implementing agency of organic farming in Kishtwar and Doda Districts, participated in the programme.
Various officers delivered relevant lectures in the training programme and apprised the farmers about latest know-how in the field of organic farming touching various subjects regarding the increase in high yield of field crops, maintenance of soil health, control of diseases and ensuring the sustainability of agriculture crops being produced organically to earn higher returns in the market that will lead to the better economic conditions of the farming community
