Training imparted to Counting staff in Doda

DODA: For smooth and hassle free conduct of the counting of polled votes in the district, where elections were held in first phase of the General Legislative Assembly Elections 2014 on 25th November 2014, the counting of the votes is scheduled to be held on 23rd of December 2014 for the Doda and Bhaderwah Assembly Constituency in District Headquarters Doda and Tehsil Headquarters Bhadarwah respectively. In this context a training programme was on Thursday organised in DC Office Doda to impart necessary technical and general training to the counting staff regarding handling of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and other related processes.
Returning Officer (ACR) Doda Assembly Constituency S.C Dogra, Returning Officer (SDM) Bhadarwah Assembly Constituency Bhupinder Kumar , EVM Master Trainers Dr. Akhtar Hussain and Manzoor Ahmed, besides counting staff attended the training programme.
The counting staff was made aware about the methodology to be adopted for counting of votes on EVMs through EVM demonstration by Master Trainers. Necessary instructions regarding filling of different forms during the counting process were also conveyed, besides instructions regarding presence of election agents, counting agents and contesting candidates were also given to the counting staff.
During the training programme the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI) with regard to the procedure to be followed for counting were also explained in detail.
Returning Officer Doda S.C Dogra and Returning Officer Bhadarwah Bhupinder Kumar impressed upon the counting staff to follow ECI guidelines strictly for smooth, fair and peaceful counting of votes.
REASI: A training programme for employees to be deployed for counting of votes on 23rd December was held at the Conference Hall in Mini Secretariat Reasi.
The Nodal Officer (Training) Manu Hansa briefed the participants about the guidelines of Election Commission of India.
The counting supervisors/counting assistants were demonstrated in detail about the handling of EVMs. The counting staff was informed about the methodology to be adopted for counting of votes.
Necessary instructions regarding filling of different forms, presence of election agents, counting agents and contesting candidates during the counting process were also given.
District Election Officer Reasi, Shabir Ahmad Bhatt informed that the counting will start at 8:00 AM, adding that usage of mobile phones will not be permitted on the venue of counting. He directed the staff designated for counting to perform their duties in a free, fair and transparent manner.
