Trainee medico endangers girl’s life

RAJOURI: A medico put a young girl’s life in danger when he gave her wrong treatment in a hospital here on Friday at Rajouri.
According to a report, a young girl identified as Shabina Kouser daughter of Abdul Majeed resident of Ward No 1, Rajouri who was brought to District Hospital Rajouri for treatment in an emergency, had a providential saving of her life when a wrong medicine injected in her body started reacting thus worsening her condition.
Alleging negligence on the part of a trainee medico, the family members raised alarm and senior doctors rushed to the patient and gave an anti-dote due to which the girl revived.
Brother of the girl Arif Qureshi said that in spite of his objection, the trainee medico administered the injection in the absence of regular doctor which resulted into wrong treatment. Arif suggested that such trainees should not be allowed to give treatment to the patients independently.
The matter was brought by the family members to the notice of Chief Medical Officer who asked the Medical Supdt to inquire into the incident. CMO assured the family members that stern action will be taken in case there is negligence on the part of some one.
