Traffic on Sher-e-Kashmir Bridge restored

POONCH: With the concerted action of the District Administration Poonch and army, all type of traffic movements on the strategic Sher-e-Kashmir Bridge resumed on Thursday.
District Development Commissioner, M.H Malik inaugurated the bridge in the presence of Commander Poonch Brigade, Navdeep Singh Brar, Police Observer, Election Commission of India, Kumar Subramaniam and Senior Superintendent of Police, J.S Johar.
Traffic to Poonch had been diverted via Kalai Bridge as a portion of approach road to Sher-e-Kashmir Bridge had been washed away in flash floods in the first week of September this year. The PWD (R&B) along with the army engineers launched a joint restoration operation and restored traffic temporarily on this bridge. Two bailey bridges of 100 feet each have been laid on the river bed to ensure temporary restoration. Talking to media persons. DDC appreciated army for their cooperation in temporary restoration of the bridge and said that the permanent restoration work is being executed on war footing.
