Traffic Rural SSP seizes 88 vehicles without High Security Registration Plates

KATHUA: A special traffic naka was established in Lakhanpur on Wednesday by SSP Traffic Rural Mohan Lal Kaith with his team of Dy SP Traffic Samba – Kathua and DTIs. In this drive 88 Vehicles not possessing High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) were seized. Seized vehicles included cars, bikes, Tralla, trucks and tankers.
SSP Traffic has appealed to the general public not to ply their vehicles without HSRP which has already been made mandatory. According to the recent Traffic Police Advisory Vehicles plying without HSRP are to be seized post 15th June, 2022 and are punishable with a fine of Rs 2,000 which can be extended up to Rs 5,000 in the first instance and in the second or subsequent offence with imprisonment which can extend to one year or fine of Rs 5,000 which can go up to Rs 10,000 or both.
