Traffic Police Challan 12,349 vehicles in April

JAMMU: In its endeavour to enforce traffic rules on road safety, Traffic Police Rural Jammu crack down on violators under the supervision of Mushtaq Choudhary, Supdt of Police Traffic Rural, Jammu.
A large number of vehicles were Challaned during the special drive that carried out in the month of April-2018.
The Traffic team challaned 12,349 vehicles out of which 741 violators were booked under the offence of overloading, 2,221 against not wearing of crash helmets, 1,579 against not wearing of seat belts, 1,543 against without driving license, 37 against use of mobile phone/dangerous driving and among other offences and also seized 308 vehicles.
During this special drive action against overcharging, overloading on Roof Top and Pressure Horn were also focused.
During the drive, the people were also counselled and asked to follow traffic rules.
He said that follow the traffic rules and be a part of the road Safety project /enforcement. He also appealed to the parents that they shall not allow their young wards to drive two wheelers without wearing helmets and proper documentation.
Moreover, he appealed to the general public/passengers that they shall not board those passenger vehicles which are overloaded and if they found any passenger vehicle not complying the Motor Vehicle Rule and facilitating overloading, shall be communicated to concerned Traffic Authority /Traffic Control Unit Contact Nos. 0191-2459048 & 9419147732.
