TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR
TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 29-01-2026:-
In view of 40–50 Mtrs single-lane stretch at Kishtwari Pather caused by the sinking of road , Heavy Motor Vehicles ( HMVs ) shall be allowed to ply on alternate days .
Passengers/LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during daytime . Night travel should be avoided due to the apprehension of shooting stones/landslides , as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal. Additionally, frost formation on the road between Nachlana and the NAVYUG Tunnel, caused by recent snow accumulation, may lead to slippery conditions and inconvenience to commuters.
Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline ; overtaking, wrong lane driving will cause congestion.
NH-44 (NHW)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs Passenger/HPVs/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa . However, HMVs shall be allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinaga r after assessing the road and traffic situation and no HMV shall be allowed after 1400 hrs . TCU Udhampur shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing this traffic.
SFs Convoy Movement:-
Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory /traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion because of narrow carriage way between Ramban and Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Tomorrow they may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.
