TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR
TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 06-01-2026:-
From 04-01-2026, 1600 hrs. to 05-01-2026, 1600 hrs., there was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to single lane traffic at Balinalla, Dewal, Nashri-Dalwas and between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, in addition to the breakdown of 02 HMVs on NH-44.
Passengers/LMVs operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during day time . Please avoid journey during night hours as the movement of HMVs between Nashri tunnel and NAVYUG Tunnel may cause inconvenience to the commuters.
Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline; overtaking, wrong lane driving will cause congestion.
NH-44 (NHW)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs Passenger/HPSVs/Private Cars/HMVs (Good carrier) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding the road condition.
SFs Convoy Movement:-
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. They shall move after after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar-Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244:-
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road is closed for vehicular movement due to fresh snow accumulation.
SSG ROAD
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, (after receiving the green signal from BRO) traffic movement shall be allowed on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road from Srinagar towards Kargil. These vehicles, LMVs followed by HMVs (upto 06 tyres) with Anti-skid chains shall be allowed to move from Sonamarg towards Kargil between 1100 hrs to 1500 hrs. Motorists are advised to carry anti-skid chain to gain more grip on the slippery road. TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform all concerned about the cut off timing.
SFs Convoy, moving from Srinagar towards Kargil shall plan their movement in such a manner so that Civil Traffic don’t get disturbed.
Mughal Road:-
Mughal road is closed for vehicular movement due to fresh snowfall.
