Traffic Plan & Advisory for December 09
TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR
- From 07-12-2024, 1700 hrs. to 08-12-2024, 1700 hrs., there was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to breakdown of 02 HMVs, single lane traffic at Dalwas, Mehad and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather.
- To ensure safety of general populace/travellers /drivers, on the request of NHAI District Magistrate Samba vide order no. DMS/JC/2024-25/3784-88 dated 08-12-2024 accorded permission to NHAI for girder launching activity at chinage (503+399) in front of Mount Litera School Tarore in Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Express Project, because of it traffic will remain suspended between Bari Brahmna and Raya Morh on intervening night of 9th/10th and 10th/11th of December 2024 from 2330 hrs to 0400 hrs. In view of traffic haltage on above said stretch of NHW, commuters are advised to plan their journey accordingly. However, traffic diversion will be placed on some routes to facilitate the general public, an advisory in this regard will be issued separately.
- Passengers/LMVs operators are advised to undertake journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during day time as there is apprehension of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.
- Goods carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh perishable/live stock are advised to load their vehicle as per advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters time to time as there is single lane traffic and poor condition of road at Dalwas, Mehad and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather on Jammu Srinagar NHW .
- HMVs Operators/Owners are requested to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. It is further requested that vehicle owners must double check the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.
- HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.
- Commuters are advised to avoid unnecessary haltage between Ramban and Banihal especially near landslide/shooting stone area.
TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 09-12-2024:-
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions LMVs Passenger/Private Cars/HMVs shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban for road condition.
SFs Convoy Movement:-
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa.
Kishtwar- Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244:-
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road is closed due to snow accumulation. Traffic will be released after getting green signal from road maintenance agencies.
SSG ROAD
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, (after getting green signal from Road maintenance agencies) traffic movement shall be allowed on regulated manner on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road. LMVs followed by HMVs upto 06 tyres only shall be allowed from Minamarg towards Srinagar at 0900 hrs. to 1130 hrs. Similarly, LMVs followed by HMVs upto 06 tyres only shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil at 1300 hrs to 1530 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing. Motorists are advised to carry anti-skid chain to gain more grip on the slippery road.
SFs Convoy, plying from Srinagar to Kargil and vice versa shall plan their movement in such a manner so that civil traffic (both UP and DOWN) doesn’t get disturbed.
Mughal Road:-
Mughal road is closed due to snow accumulation. Traffic will be released after getting green signal from road maintenance agencies.
Bhaderwah-Chamba road:-
Bhaderwah-Chamba road is open for vehicular movement.
