Traffic awareness camp organised
SUNDERBANI : A traffic awareness camp was organised jointly by Government Higher Secondary School and Harsh Higher Secondary School Sunderbani on Monday in which the ARTO Rajouri Shammu Kumar Sharma was the Chief Guest.
The speakers in this camp explained to the audience various traffic rules and signals and asked the people to strictly observe the same.
The ARTO who gave a detailed count of various Dos and Don’ts , stressed upon the drivers to avoid dangerous driving, driving a two wheeler without helmet, using mobile while driving, driving after drinks, driving without license and so on asserting that majority of accidents are due to negligence on the part of vehicle operator.
He said that the parents who buy a bike worth Rs 70,000 for their ward should also buy a helmet costing only Rs 200 to 300. He said that while it is the responsibility of the concerned department to control and manage the traffic, at the same time people should also cooperate so that the accidents are minimised.
Meanwhile another traffic awareness camp was held by ARTO at Nowshera on Monday in which he asked the vehicle operators to strictly follow the traffic norms. He said that the number of deaths in traffic accidents in India is much more than any other country as a result of non-observance of traffic norms in the country. He sought public cooperation in minimising the accidents.
Others who spoke in the camp include Adv Prithvi Khokhar, Babu Ram and Rakesh Choudhary.
