Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Daredevils by 146 runs

Mumbai Indians since the inception of the IPL has been a very strong side. In 2017, they registered a 146-run win over Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals). The win still holds the record of being the largest victory in terms of runs.

The Daredevils won the toss and decided to field first playing at home. The MI openers, Lendl Simmons and Parthiv Patel gave their team a strong start and shared a 79-run stand. Skipper, Rohit Sharma played a great move of promoting Keiron Pollard up the order and sent the hard-hitting all-rounder to bat at number three. Simmons scored 66 runs in 43 balls but it was Pollard’s knock which made the record possible. Pollard remained unbeaten and scored 63 runs in 35 balls hitting five fours and four sixes. Pollard’s knock of high-risk high-reward is a great example of how playing positively and aggressively can give you great returns similar to what  Spribe Aviator game provided by 10CRIC stands to offer via online gaming.

In the second innings, the MI spinners wreaked havoc on the hosts. Karn Sharma and Harbhajan Singh picked up three wickets each to bowl out the Daredevils for 66 runs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Gujarat Lions by 144 runs

Chinnaswamy Stadium has been home to many of the great batting performances from IPL. In an afternoon game, visitors, Gujarat Lions won the toss and decided to field first. RCB batting first had a typical batting performance where skipper, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers after the early wicket of Chris Gayle put on a show for the crowd. The duo shared a 229-run stand for the second wicket (the highest partnership in IPL history). Both Kohli and De Villiers scored centuries. Kohli scored 109 runs in just 55 balls hitting five fours eight sixes. But it was De Villiers who stepped on the accelerator pedal scoring 129 runs in just 52 balls hitting 10 fours and 12 sixes.

In the second innings, Chris Jordan picked up four wickets while Yuzvendra Chahal picked up three wickets to bowl out the Lions for 104 runs.

If there was any match which is perfect for the term blockbuster it would be the first match in the IPL history between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB sent KKR in to bat at the Chinnaswamy Stadium after winning the toss. Opener, Brendon McCullum put on a one-man show for the spectators at Bengaluru and scored 158 runs in 73 balls.
