JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday emphasised the need to build a society that is technologically potent yet humanely sensitive, and said that time has come for India to reclaim its place in guiding a challenge-ridden world.

He called upon the youth to enrich not just India but also the global intellectual and moral consciousness.

Speaking after unveiling a bust of Maharaja Ranbir Singh at the Central Sanskrit University here, Sinha said, “India, driven by human welfare, remains committed to world peace and shared prosperity. Time has come for India to reclaim its place, guiding a challenge-ridden world.”

The lieutenant governor, who also renamed the university’s Jammu campus as Shri Maharaja Ranbir Singh Campus, said, “We must steadfastly prepare our youth to forge a formidable India — one that shall knit nations in unbreakable unity, kindling in them the noble pursuit of universal peace and human welfare.”

He said ancient India’s journey — holding science in one hand and culture in the other — was never one-sided.

“We imbibed personalities from Brahmagupta’s intellect and Buddha’s wisdom. This campus must nurture such souls,” he said.

He also promised financial assistance to establish gurukuls, Sanskrit pathshalas and Ved pathshalas in the region.

Calling upon the youth to build a technologically strong yet compassionate society, Sinha said, “We must build a society technologically potent yet humanely sensitive. Youth must enrich not just India but global intellectual and moral consciousness. India, driven by human welfare, remains committed to world peace and shared prosperity.” (PTI)
