KATHUA: Once again the unpleasant reputation of Forest Minister Lal Singh came to limelight creating embarrassing situation for his cabinet colleague Choudhary Sham Lal, PHE Minister during a District Development Board (DDB) meeting held at Kathua.
The DDB meeting on Monday took an ugly turn when the arrogant Forest Minister in a bid to exhibit his supremacy over Choudhary Sham Lal crossed the thin line of decency while reminding him of his dominance as Chairman of DDB Udhampur that too in the presence of MLAs, Chief Engineers of different departments and other Sectoral Officers. While trespassing into the jurisdiction of Choudhary Sham Lal, who is the Chairman of DDB Kathua, the Forest Minister did not miss the chance to instigate his cabinet colleague into a verbal duel over the issue of distribution of water pumps for Basohli Constituency. Situation would have worsened if the PHE Minister did not maintain his cool. However, timely and rational handling of the situation by Choudhary Sham Lal by asking the Forest Minister to leave the venue averted the embarrassment which otherwise BJP had to face since both the ministers belonged to same party.
