UDHAMPUR: A large number of local people of Tikri locality on Tuesday held a protest at Tikri Chowk in order to show resentment against the higher ups of the Education Department for not posting physics lecturer in Govt. Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Tikri.
The residents assembled at Tikri Chowk in Udhampur, blocked national highway and raised slogans against the department and local administration. Protesters alleged that despite their repeated requests concerned department as well as local administration closed their eyes adding chaos and harassment to the students. They urged the Govt. to ensure posting of required lecturer so that students may not suffer. Protesters warned the local administration that if it fails to post physics lecturer they will resort to an agitation and come on the road. Naib Tehsildar pacified the protesters and assured to post required lecturer at the earliest and said he would take up the matter with the concerned department.
