Three smugglers held, 11 bovines rescued

SUNDERBANI: Police on Wednesday arrested three bovine smugglers and rescued eleven bovine animals at three separate Nakas.
As a part of drive against menace of bovine smuggling, Sunderbani Police led by SHO Police Station Sunderbani Inspector Narinder Singh Jamwal on intervening night of 15th -16th March 2016 on a specific information laid Nakas near ITI Sunderbani. During Naka checking, police seized a Tata Mobile (JK11A-2787) and rescued two bovines. Police seized the vehicle and arrested one bovine smuggler namely Bashir Ahmed son of Wali Mohd resident of Channi, Sunderbani.
A case vide FIR No.13/2016 under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Sunderbani
Similarly: Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station Kalakote inspector Parmod Singh Bajju on intervening night of 15th -16th March 2016 on a specific information laid Naka checking at different locations near Kalakote. During Naka checking, police seized two Tata Mobiles bearing registration No.JK02AP-0649 and JK02AP-4403 and rescued four bovines. Police arrested the two bovine smugglers namely Mohd Akram son of Muneer Hussain resident of Channi, Sunderbani and Rayaz Ahmed son of Mohd Aslam resident of Dharamsal.
A case vide FIR Nos. 16/2016 and 17/2016 under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Kalakote.
Meanwhile, Akhnoor Police on Wednesday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 5 bovines from the clutches of smugglers.
As per the reports, one Mahindra loaded with bovines fled from the Naka when signaled to stop at Sungal Morh. Over it, a police party of Akhnoor along with PCR Van chased the vehicle (Mahindra) bearing Regd No JKO2BM /2312 and rescued five bovines from the clutches of bovine smugglers who fled away from the spot leaving behind the vehicle.
The vehicle was seized and case was registered in Police Station Akhnoor.
