SAMBA: Continuing its drive against the narcotics smugglers, District Police Samba has arrested 03 narcotics smugglers and recovered approximately 40 Kgs of Poppy Straw like substance in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba.
A Police Party of Police Post Mansar during vehicle checking at Naka point, Mansar intercepted a truck bearing registration No. JK02AF/ 3645. During checking of the said vehicle, approximately 40Kgs of Poppy Straw like substance in 02 plastic sacks were recovered which were tactfully concealed in the vehicle to avoid being noticed by the Police.
The accused persons identified as 1) Anil Kumar S/O Rattan Chand R/O Barota Billawar District Kathua, 2) Deep Kumar S/O Govind Ram R/O Prey Ramnagar, District Udhampur, 3) Harjeet Singh S/O Chanda Singh R/O Abtal, Ramgarh District Samba. All the accused have been arrested on the spot and the contraband item alongwith vehicle were also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 173/2022 U/S 8/15/25 NDPS Act has been registered at police Station Samba and further investigation started.
