Three narco-smugglers held with heroin from Amphalla

JAMMU: Three narco smugglers were arrested from Amphalla area on Sunday evening with 6.37 grams of heroin. Acting on specific information, joint teams of District Special Branch (DSB) and Jammu and Kashmir Police intercepted an Alto car (JK20-0040) on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at Amphalla area, a police official said.
During search of the car, he said, 6.37 grams of heroin was recovered from trio travelling in the vehicle. Accordingly, the police official said that the accused, identified as Anil Kumar, son of Girdhari Lal, resident of Chatha; Parvesh Kumar, son of Ram SIngh, resident of Bhagwati Nagar and Ajay Kumar, son of Om Prakash, resident of Main Bazar, Katra at present Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, were arrested and booked under the relevant sections of the law, with further investigation set into the motion.
It was alleged that Ajay Kumar, is one of the biggest drug peddler operating in the region. Police said he has allegedly earned hundreds of crores through his drug peddling, money laundering,. He has purchased assets including luxury hotels, commercial shops, and large real estate holdings in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Goa, Mumbai, and Pune. Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses, police said.
