Three held for pasting ‘Lashkar-e-Islam’ posters

SRINAGAR: Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested three persons, including two bus conductors, allegedly involved in pasting threatening posters in Khrew area of Pulwama district.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Awantipora, Muhammad Irshad, the arrested persons have militant links and they had pasted threatening posters of Lashkar-e-Islam outfit at Khrew few days back. They have been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, Mudasir Ahmad Lone, son of Abdul Samad Lone and Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammed Bhat.
A case under FIR No. 76/2015 under Section 13 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act has been registered the miscreants. Officials said that the trio had downloaded the posters from Facebook and printed it at a local computer outlet. The posters were later pasted in Khrew area which falls in close vicinity of Army’s Brigade Headquarters and several J&K Armed Police and CRPF installations.
However, residents claimed that two of the three detainees were full time bus conductors with no known history of the militant linkage.
IGP Kashmir Javaid Mujtaba Gillani told STATE TIMES that the Police were grilling the detainees about pasting the threatening posters in Khrew.
