Third Eid Diwali Cricket Cup KC Sports, Country Academy win respective ties

JAMMU: KC Sports Club and Country Cricket Academy registered emphatic wins and enters in the next round of the ongoing Third Eid-Diwali Milan T20 Cricket Cup, played at Gulshan Ground, here on Sunday.
In the first match of the day, KC Sports XI defeated United Cricket Club by four wickets.
Batting first, with the help of Hamer’s 85 runs in 53 balls United Blues XI set a target of 170 runs in stipulated 20 overs for loss of five wickets. Habib added 20 run to the total.
Jatin and Irshad took two wickets each while Abhishant and Bagal shared one each for KC Sports XI.
KC Club, in reply achieved the target in last over of the game for the loss of six wickets.
Abhishant and Sahil made 52 and 51 runs respectively. For United Blues XI, Rajesh clinched three wickets while Kalu took two, Saqib scalped one wicket.
Abhishant was declared Man of the Match for his all round performance.
In the second match, Country Academy XI scripted a comfortable win against Haryana XI.
Batting first, Country Academy made 171 runs in the allotted 18 overs for the loss of seven wickets. Sant Baksh (51 in 35 balls), Akash (40 in 25 balls) and Rockey (25 in 17 balls) were the top scorers. Manoj, Ashish and Surinder shared two wickets each for GCA Haryana.
In reply, GCA Haryana could not achieve the target and was bundled out in 16.5 overs. Ashish (13) and Dikhsu (12) were the main scorers. Yogesh and Sahil shared three wickets each while Harjeet two wickets and Akash took one. Sant Baksh was declared Man of the Match.
Another match played between Tanishta and Akhnoor Club. Tanishta scored a huge total of 205 runs in the allotted 18 overs for the loss of eight wickets. Hunny (64), Manjit Singh (53) and Prince (33) were the main scorers.
Sonu and Anil shared three wickets each while Sham took two for Akhnoor Club.
In reply, Akhnoor club made 146 runs in 15.4 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Sunil and Sumit scored 52 and 51 runs respectively. When the Akhnoor team needed 60 runs in 14 balls, the batsman appealed for bad light.
The appeal was accepted by the Umpires Sandeep and Bedi and the decision was announced by the Organising Secretary that the match shall be resumed from the same situation on some other day.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Manchanda, Suhail Yusuf, Abhijot Singh Bedi, Farooq Ahmad and Yogesh.
Fixture: Cantt Club Vs RCC Srinagar at 8:00 AM. GCA Haryana Vs ICC at 11:00 AM and Royal Club Vs JKP Cricket XI at 1:00 PM.
