The President of the people
Dear Editor,
One feels sad that placing a replica of the Bhagavad Gita near A.P.J Abdul Kalam’s statue at his memorial should have drawn criticism. But let us understand that former President Abdul Kalam followed only one religion, and the understanding of humanity he had from it.
Rising from humble beginnings, he rose to become the President of India. He had the power to unite people from all only by the power of his love for his countrymen. In this context one remembers Mahatma Gandhi’s quote, “God has no religion”.
