JAMMU: Scores of temporary teachers on Monday held protest demanding regularisation of their services.
One of the protesting youths said that around 8,000 educated youths were engaged by government as temporary teachers in 2014-15 session.
“We worked for one year under government order 482 of 2014,” he said, “now we want government to regularise our services.”
The protesting youths demanded that they be regularised with 61,000 casual and contractual employees of State.
“We were assured by Finance Ministry officials last year that our case will be taken up with 61,000 contractual and casual employees,” he said, “now, the government has backtracked as our case file has been taken out from policy for 61,000 temporary employees.”
Notable to mention here, J and K has 61,000 temporary employees who have rendered over seven years of service. The PDP-BJP Government assured such employees that their services will be regularised through procedure and a policy in this regard is under process with Ministry of Finance.
