JAMMU: Temporary employees from various departments held strong protest outside the official residence of Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, here on Wednesday.
A large number of temporary employees including daily wagers, need base, ITI and CP workers under the banner of All Department Jammu and Kashmir Workers Coordination Committee, assembled outside the official resident of Deputy Chief Minister and started protest.
Led by Satish Sharma and others, the agitating workers were shouting slogans in support of their demands. They also raised slogans against the Deputy Chief Minister for ignoring their genuine issues.
They were demanding framing of a policy for the regularization of all type of daily wagers, need based and CP workers who were engaged after 1994.
They also submitted a memorandum to him highlighting their anguish and pain meted out by the previous State Governments by making false promises of regularization.
“We are being cheated each day, our dreams shattered and our lives ruined even after giving tireless services day and night,” they said.
“Number of committees, sub committees and High Level Committee were framed by the government and Governor to resolve our long pending issues but every time our files were seen gathering dust in the secretariat,” they alleged.
They appealed to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Deputy Chief Minister to intervene personally and resolve their demand at the earliest.
Kalbushan Singh, Akhil Sharma, Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal, Rakesh Kumar, Sh. Rajan Sharma, Bhanu Partap Singh, Ravinder Singh, Puneet Gandotra and Sanju Kumar were also spoke on the occasion.
