POONCH: A teenage boy was electrocuted to death and woman hospitalised with critical burn injuries after high voltage electric wire fell on them here at Brari village of Sawjiyan area, Poonch late in the evening on Wednesday. Sources said that the power line suddenly fell on the victims leaving them critically injured due to severe electric shock.
They were shifted to Sub District Hospital Mandi where doctors declared Shabir Ahmed (14) son of Mohammad Aziz resident of Brari as brought dead.
The other injured woman namely Naseeba Bi wife of Bashir Ahmed was referred to District Hospital Poonch.
Meanwhile people of the area lodged a massive protest blaming that it is carelessness on the part of Power Development Department that has led to the tragic accident.
They raised slogans against Power Development Department for its failure to maintain and repair the power line. They sought appropriate relief and compensation to the victims besides taking action against the negligent officials.
