Team Red wins Deaf and Dumb cricket match

Jammu: To explore the talent of physically challenged youths, Range Police Headquarters Jammu on Thursday organised Deaf and Dumb cricket match under Civic Action Programme-2016-17 at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here.
The match was declared open by Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, Dy. Inspector General of Police Jammu.
Sports uniforms and full cricket kit were presented to the teams in presence of various dignitaries of the department and Deaf and Dumb Association J and K.
In today’s match, batting first after winning toss, Team Red was bowled out for 125 runs which in reply Team Blue chased for the loss of seven wickets, thus won the match by three wickets.
Shubam Kumar scored 42 runs and was declared Man of the Match and awarded with cash reward and certificate by the Chief Guest.
S.D Singh Jamwal, Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone presided over the match and distributed the winning and runner up trophies to the teams.
In addition to this medals/certificates were given to all the players and umpires/scorers as well. The match was witnessed by at least 700 people from all walks of life and lauded the role of JKP and appreciated for organising such activity under Civic Action Programme.
The match was organised under the supervision of Rajnish Pran, SSP SO to DIG JSK Range and Parshotam Lal Sharma, Dy. Director Prosecution RPHQ Jammu and assisted by other staff of RPHQ Jammu. The main contribution in the match remained from SI Neelam Saini, I/C PP Canal Jammu.
