JAMMU: Strongly condemning brutal Lathi-charge on students including girl, who were peacefully protesting for their genuine demands, by the policemen this morning, Team Jammu warned the State Board of Education authorities of dire consequences if the demands of the agitating students were not fulfilled.
Smelling a deep rooted conspiracy against the future of Jammu province, Team Jammu observed that a deliberate attempt is being made to spoil the career of meritorious, deserving and nationalist youth of Jammu region by some moles in the Education Department.
“Fate of over 30,000 students of Jammu province is hanging in balance due to misdeeds of the board authorities but instead of rectifying the blunders, authorities have brazenly restored to oppressive means to gag voice of these helpless students including girls”, said Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Chairman of the Team Jammu while interacting with agitating students outside the BOSE office, Rehari Colony Jammu.
During an interaction with the members of the Team Jammu the aggrieved students apprised of their just and genuine issues. They informed that day before yesterday they appeared in Physics exams of Class 12th and it was to their utter surprise that 80 per cent of the questionnaire was set out of pattern. Due to such a situation, majority of the students got confused and could not perform well despite their day and night of hard-work. Demanding cancellation of the Physics paper, they said that nothing less than fresh conduct of the said exam and that too with the traditional set of pattern. While addressing the agitating youth, Jamwal took a dig on police authorities for mercilessly beating the peacefully demonstrating students. He questioned that who ordered policemen to resort to brutal Lathi-charge on even girl students. “It is matter of shame that instead of calling lady cops, men in Khakhi beat up innocent girl students. There must be an inquiry by senior police officers into the incident and guilty cops must be punished for their ill act,” demanded Jamwal.
“Let it be very clear to BOSE authorities to rectify their blunder and don’t dare to play with the future of Jammu youth. If any dilly-dallying action takes place then Team Jammu will be left with no other option than to begin a mass movement to save academic future of young students,” demanded Zorawar Singh.
Among others who accompanied the chairman include Chandan Datta, Surinder Sharma, Satyam Gupta, Sanjay Kumar Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Rakesh Jamwal, Koushal Sharma, Sanjay Verma and Rajesh Kapoor.
