KATHUA: J and K United School Teachers Association (USTA) on Monday held a protest against the callous attitude of administration of the School Education Department towards the burning issues of teaching community.
A large number activists of USTA gathered at Sahid Bhagat Singh Park Kathua under the leadership of Dr. Sashi Paul Singh Distt. President and raised slogans against the department.
While addressing the gathering Provincial President Hari Singh criticised authorities at the helm of affairs who are working on the dictation of exploiters and crippled the department. All rules and norms have been thrown to winds, Hari said adding that teachers, masters and regularised RET teachers working under SSA, RMSA and Head 2071 are without salary for the past so many months.
“If teachers are without salary for more than six months then ZEOs, CEOs, Director School Education, Commissioner Secretary and even Minister for School Education have no moral rights to get their salary” Singh said. He strongly condemned the authoritative attitude of education authorities who are misusing their official position by making normless, premature, pick and choose transfers pushing large scale corruption and favoritism in the department ignoring all those who have completed more than three years tenure in far away places like Bani, Malhar etc.
USTA appealed the government to concede the demands at the earliest otherwise USTA will be forced to hold provincial level demonstration at Press Club Jammu on 12th September 2014.
Others who addressed include- Rajeev Kumar Gen. Sec, Pardeep Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Kishori Lal, Noor Alm, Raj Kumar, Madan Singh, Yash Paul, Rakesh Kumar, Rattan Singh and Sham Lal.
