JAMMU: The Aggrieved Teachers Association thanked the Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari for keeping the controversial order (Government Order No. 66 -Edu 2017 dated 16.02.2017) in abeyance after the teachers affected by virtue of the order had called on him and demanded withdrawal of the same.
Pertinent to mention here is that because of the order-66 as many as 572 teachers were denied promotions as Masters owing to their degrees being obtained through distance education mode.
The order today issued by education secretariat Govt order No.: 140-Edu of 2017 has kept the order-66 in abeyance and State, “The Govt order No-66 -Edu 2017 dt 16.02.2017 is hereby kept in abeyance till further orders.” The association leaders who have expressed thanks to the Minister include Mrignayani Slathia, Vijay Kumar and Upasna Singh.
