Teachers’ Day celebrated

JAMMU: GS Accounts Institute celebrated Teachers’ Day with fervour on Friday.
Proprietor-cum-Faculty Girish Sharma greeted all the teachers on the occasion and said Teachers’ Day is celebrated as Guru Divas in India on 5th September every year since 1962 to commemorate Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday. He was the first Vice President of independent India and the second President of India, but above all the most revered and loved teacher of religious and philosophical studies.
Fifteen students delivered speech on Teachers’ Day and also described on ideal personality of Dr Radhakrishnan. Consolation prizes were distributed to the 15 students by Girish Sharma Proprietor of the Institute.
The entire programme was co–ordinated by the faculty members Sachin Sharma, Ravinder Kumar and Rajiv Sharma. Girish Sharma along with students of the institute also paid tributes to Radhakrishnan and in his speech he emphasised that qualities such as nationalism, patriotic fervour can take India to greater heights. He exhorted the students to hold their heads high and work for making an enlightened, prosperous and wise India.
