The Bold Voice of J&K

TEACH LESSON OF LIFE

Creating an atmosphere of anarchy over the court verdict is in no way justified and what the police has done in the case of protests marking the outcome of Yasin Malik’s ruling is a befitting response because none among those who raised anti-India slogans deserved leniency. The action of Jammu and Kashmir Police by which it arrested 10 persons on charges of raising anti-national slogans and pelting stones outside the residence of JKLF chief Yasin Malik in protest against the life term awarded to him should act as deterrent for others because it is the time to set a precedence in the country or else this unwarranted culture will also creep in the Valley like the way the stone pelting was seen in the recent past. It is pertinent to mention that clashes had taken place between protesters and security forces in Maisuma area of Srinagar after Yasin Malik was sentenced to life by a special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in New Delhi in a case related to terrorism and secessionist activities. Reports averring that some more accused are being identified and will be arrested soon and the main instigators will also be booked under PSA and will be lodged in jails outside J&K showing that government is in no mood to give a long rope to supporters of terrorists. The action by the police is praiseworthy and it should maintain this pressure on trouble mongers because India cannot afford more violence in Kashmir. No attempt at creating or reviving the law and order situation in Srinagar should be tolerated and any one found indulging in such a behaviour should be put behind bars as jail is the only suitable place for these outlaws. The government should ensure that all the attempts of provoking a law and order situation by vested interests should be dealt with full force of law. The government should take all possible steps to stop such protests as these can deteriorate the situation in the Valley which is not in the interest of anyone. The remarks by PAGD leadership should also be taken very seriously as the members are relying on blackmailing tactics to mount pressure against conviction of Malik by claiming that this can mar the peace initiatives in Valley, which is a lie and nothing else.
