TCC, BHCC win opening ties

UDHAMPUR: TCC won the inaugural match of the T20 Cricket Tournament being organised by District Police Udhampur under Civic Action Programme at Subash Stadium, here on Wednesday.
In the opening match, TCC outplayed KCC Udhampur by five wickets.
After winning the toss by KCC decided to bat first and set a target of 123 runs in 20 overs which was achieved by TCC Club in 19.2 overs for the loss of five wickets. Sachin of TCC Udhampur was declared Man of the Match.
In another match, BHCC defeated CSCC Udhampur. Batting first, BHCC set a target of 107 runs in 15 overs which in reply CSCC could not chase and lost the match. Aditya of BHCC Udhampur was declared as Man of the Match.
Earlier the five-day tournament was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mohd Suleman Choudhary, SSP Udhampur in the presence of prominent citizens of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Udhapmur said, “Such tournament was organised to promote the essence of sportsmanship among the youth and to keep them away from social evils and channelise their positive energy.”
