Tarigami urges Jammu and Kashmir government to translate promises into action

TarigamiSrinagar: The state unit of CPI (M) today urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir to come up to expectations of the people and live up to promises made prior to the Assembly elections.

“Tall claims are in no way any solution to the mounting problems of basic amenities faced by the people across the state and if the government wants to mitigate sufferings of the people, it should start translating its promises into action on ground.

“The situation on the ground seems no way different than it was earlier rather it has further deteriorated. The state of affairs of the people, particularly the flood victims continues to be murky as far as the delivery of the new government is concerned,” Senior CPI(M) leader and MLA M Y Tarigami said in a statement.

He asked Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to make his government visible on the ground.

The CPI(M) leader said the much-needed rehabilitation of flood-hit people seems to have been “deleted from the priorities” of the government and same is the case with other sectors of socio-economic development of the state.

“See the condition of our national highway, roads and defunct water supply and irrigation projects especially in various districts of South Kashmir. Expectations were roused regarding the liberal funding from the central government and as of now even normal funding is not available,” he said.
