JAMMU: Demanding regularisation of daily wagers casual labourers and need-based workers engaged in PHE, PWD, PDC and other engineering departments, former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand urged the government to complete the Congress governments’ drive to give justice to these employees who have given their 20 years of life as daily wagers.
Addressing a gathering at Naryana village at Khour, Tara Chand said the present government has betrayed the public by false promises. It was congress government which provided water, power and road in rural and far flung areas of the State.
“Pargwal canal is totally dry as PHE and irrigation department failed to repair the damaged canal. Water supply in the entire area is negligible as there are long power cuts,” local villagers spoke loudly in the public meeting.
Tara Chand assured the local residents of solving their problems by bring this into the notice of Chief Minister.
After the flood, none of the road in the border area was developed, said Tara, adding that the BJP government has befooled the public by making false promises.
“We will pressurize the government to speed up the regularisation process of PHE and other department. Congress started this process however BJP government has kept the files in cold storage, said Tara.
“BJP government is also not doing anything for the compensation of PoK refugees. Congress started the process and BJP has abandoned it,” said Tara.
Besides, block presidents of Congress, Sarpanchs, Panchs of Chhamb constituency participated in the public meeting.
