AKHNOOR: Former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand on Sunday visited various areas in Akhnoor and Chhamb Constituencies where number of deputations from different areas met the popular and people friendly leader.
All the deputations mainly talked about the total failure of the government during last one year adding that there was none to listen the sufferings of the people. They said that both the coalition partners concentrated on Kashmir-building at the cost of Jammu and the BJP granted all the power to PDP to proceed on according to latter’s wish.
The deputation of farmers explained that due to non-release of Chenab water through Partap Canal, their wheat crops have been spoiled during the present draught and yellow rust has attacked their crop for which no remedial measures have been taken. The farmers said that power and water remained distant commodities for the people of this area, they said.
” No one cares about Atta, rice, sugar and kerosene oil for the people of this area while the repeated directions issued to the Department of CAPD to ensure sufficient ration and fuel for the masses in Kashmir”, they alleged.
A deputation of employees and need based workers also met the former Dy CM and said that they are without salary and wages for the last many months and they are finding it difficult to make both ends meet.
The BJP which always played a second fiddle and had totally forgotten Jammu has to take independent decision for the benefit of Jammu people not to the line of its senior partner – PDP.
Former Dy CM Tara Chand assured the people that their grievances will be conveyed to the Governor for issue of suitable instructions to the concerned authority.
