UDHAMPUR: Police on Monday arrested a tanker driver and recovered 20 kg poppy straw from his possession.
According to a report, SHO Udhampur O.P Chib while conducting checking at Naka Point at Jakhani Chowk intercepted one Tanker (HR55 M-9168) which was on way from Srinagar towards Punjab . Upon subjecting the said vehicle to thorough checking, 20Kg poppy straw (Bhukki) was recovered. The driver namely Standir Singh son of Naginder Singh resident of Lambapind Jalandhar Punjab was arrested besides seizing the vehicle on spot. Accordingly a case under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Udhampur.
