Tamil Nadu, Haryana script wins in All India Super-Six T20

JAMMU: Tamil Nadu’s skipper Sachin Shiva struck the brilliant century to help his team 65-run victory over West Bengal in the All India Super-Six T20 Cricket Tournament for Physically Handicapped, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police at Gulshan Ground, here on Saturday.
Batting first, Tamil Nadu XI set a target of 161 runs for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Sachin with wide range of strokes, which he underlined with 17 fours and three sixes, smashed unbeaten 115 runs off 67 balls. Yuvrajan contributed 13 runs. For West Bengal XI, Tushar took three wickets, while Rafiqul and Rahul shared one each.
In reply, West Bengal XI failed to chase the target and was bowled out for 95 runs in 15.3 overs. Tushar made 23 runs while Rahul and Prem Parkash contributed 17 and 12 runs respectively.
After batting display, Skipper Sachin with his tight line and length also picked five wickets while Manivanan grabbed two and Rajmaheswer one.
For his all-round display, Sachin Shiva was adjudged as Man of the Match.
In another match, Haryana XI scripted a thrilling one-run victory over Rajasthan.
Haryana XI, batting first, scored 156 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Vinod was the top scorer with 40 runs (5×5, 1×6) while Deepak made 33 runs (2×4, 3×6) and Yashpal Sharma contributed 19 runs to the total.
For Rajasthan, Jaisa Ram, Azar Mohammad and Jaswant shared apiece each.
In reply, Rajasthan also played well but managed to score 155 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 over, thus lost the match by one run. Jaswant (36), Iqbal Khan (35), Satyapal (32) and Babu (22) runs were the main scorers. Sandeep claimed two wickets for Haryana. Vinod of Haryana was declared Man of the Match.
In today’s’ matches, IGP, J.P Singh was the Chief Guest whereas Cricketer Mithun Manhas was the Guest of Honour.
J.P Singh appreciated the specially-abled cricketers for showing great skills in batting and bowling. He conveyed his good wishes to all the participating teams for their sports career and future.
Today’s matches were officiated by Sham Singh, Madan, Suresh Singh and Madan Mohan and Sandeep Manchanda whereas the commentary and the post match proceedings were conducted by Rajesh Dhar.
Tomorrow’s Fixture: Madhya Pardesh to meet West Bengal at 9:30 AM and J&K to face Haryana at 1:30 PM.
