Take preventive measures to minimise thefts: DIG to cops

JAMMU: Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range held a crime review meeting of Sub Division City South Jammu, which covers the jurisdiction of Police Stations Gandhi Nagar, Gangyal and Satwari.
Shazaad Ahmed Salaria SP City South Jammu, Parshotam Sharma Deputy Director Prosecution RPHQ Jammu, Sachin Gupta, SDPO South, SHOs of Police Stations Gandhi Nagar, Gangyal, Satwari and all Investigating Officers of Sub Division attended the meeting.
DIG RPHQ Jammu reviewed the old as well as fresh cases and issued necessary guidelines to the I.Os for prompt disposal of the under investigation cases, so that timely justice is delivered to the public on ground. The territorial officers were also imparted necessary directions for taking preventive and detective measures in order to minimize the regular thefts in the area. They were directed to ensure patrolling for night domination in the area. The SHOs were also directed to take steps and adopt measures to prevent such type of crime by way of increasing Nakas/Patrolling especially during night.
DIG Jammu also directed SP South and SDPO South to enlist about 200 drug peddlers, sellers, retailers and drug addicts and other persons associated with any sort of drug menace of their jurisdiction and to organize an interaction meeting with them in order to have a review of drug abuse, so that they are advised/apprised not to indulge in such bad practice posing threat to their precious life.
