Symposium on Guru Nanak Dev Ji organised at Sant Mela Singh College

JAMMU: Under the aegis of Population Education and Adult and Continuing Education Clubs, a symposium on the topic “Guru Nanak Dev Ji-The Apostle of Truth, Peace and Unity’ was organised at Sant Mela Singh College of Education.
The programme started with lighting of traditional lamp followed by recitation of Shabad by the students of the college. About ten students of the college participated in the symposium and threw light on the teachings and contribution of Guru Nanak Dev Ji towards social reforms.
Chairman of the College, Prof. Anmol Singh was the Chief Guest on the occasion who laid stress that the youth should follow the preaching of the great Guru, which are very important to maintain peace and harmony in the present society.
Prof. Hardev Singh was the Guest of Honour who highlighted the importance of Guru Nanak Dev’s teachings in the present era. He stressed that such programmes should be frequently organised in the institution so that the students acquire knowledge about the real well wishers of the humanity.
Principal of the college, Dr. Kiran Luthra presided over the function. She asked the students to follow the path shown by Guru Nanak Dev to live a successful and pious life in the society.
The first prize was shared by Sunit Kour and Pawandeep Kour while the second prize was also shared by Ankush and Reema Thapa and third prize was also bagged by Ranjana Kumari and Jyoti Devi.
The vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Anju Sudan, Incharge of Population Education and Adult and Continuing Education Clubs.
The stage was conducted by Kiranpreet Kour, student of the college.
