Thousands of men and mothers and sisters were murdered in Jammu and Kashmir, lakhs of people had to leave their native land and wander from door to door and had to bear many crises. It also includes areas of Mirpur, Bhimber, Kotli, Bagh Pulandri, Sadanoti, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit, Baltistan and Poonch.
At that time many soldiers also sacrificed their lives. The ancestral land of all these displaced people is called Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir or POJK. The communities living in different places after migrating from Chhamb, the frontier region of Jammu and Kashmir, affected by the Indo-Pak wars of 1965 and 1971, are known as Chhamb Visthapits . At that time, thousands of Hindus, Sikhs were mercilessly killed in this attack and their families were burnt alive in their homes, thousands of mothers and sisters were insulted. Due to this diabolical massacre, thousands of Hindu, Sikh families had to leave their native land and property and migrate. During this exodus, members of many families got separated from their loved ones in such a way that they have not been found till date. The Parliament of India has also passed a resolution to withdraw POJK.
He said that thousands of displaced people of POJK were forced to wander outside the state of Jammu and Kashmir due to the planned policy of the then government of Jammu and Kashmir. Unfortunately, they were denied various rights by the state governments for seven decades.
In this meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Forum, the mother land of the ancestors of the PoJK, Chhamb displaced persons of 1965 and 1971 will be remembered, therefore the entire patriot society is urged to pay collective tribute to the people who sacrificed at that time and to remember the holy land of their ancestors.
