Swachhta Pakhwara: Cleanliness drive organised by NSS at JU

JAMMU: Continuing with the series of functions as a part of Swachhta Pakhwara, the National Service Scheme (NSS), Campus Units, University of Jammu on Friday organised Swachhta Abhiyan in the campus in and around the Directorate of Distance Education.
A large number of students from Distance Education participated in the drive.
Prof. Jasbir Singh, Chairman, NSS Campus Units, while addressing the students, highlighted the importance of the cleanliness and appealed them to spread the message of Swachhta Abhiyan initiated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Before the start of the event all participants took Swachhta Shapath to devote two hours per week for cleanliness and educate at least 100 people about the Swachhta Abhiyan.
They also pledged to take up such drive on regular intervals so that a message goes to the student community to keep the campus clean.
The university canteens and surroundings were also covered under the drive by the students.
Prof. Dhian Singh, Director, DDE appealed to the students to take up such type of initiatives on regular basis.
In all 73 students participated in the drive. The event was coordinated by the Dr. Anju Thappa, Programme Officer, NSS and supported by Dr. Anupama Vohra, Associate Dean, Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu and Dr. Nisha Jamwal, Assistant Professor in Hindi and Nardeep Kour, Lakshmi and Rahul Kundal were also present on the occasion.
